Dr. Fryer is a licensed clinical psychologist who provides psychotherapy to adolescents and adults. She also conducts assessments across the lifespan. In a therapeutic setting, Dr. Fryer works with individuals experiencing challenges associated with anxiety, depression, ADHD, perinatal mental health disorders, stress management, relationships, parenting, and life transitions. She is experienced in the use of evidence-based interventions for anxiety, pain management, and parent training. She provides psychological assessment for a wide range of issues, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, learning disorders, and personality assessment.
Dr. Fryer uses an integrative approach to treatment which allows her to tailor treatment to an individual’s needs and style and to consider various factors operating in one’s life. Dr. Fryer believes in people’s abilities to grow and change and enjoys guiding individuals to uncover hidden strengths and resources. Dr. Fryer’s approach to assessment is also guided by her belief in uncovering strengths and resources. She views the purpose of assessment as gaining not only an understanding of one’s self or a child, but also to open doors to appropriate sources of support.
Dr. Fryer received both her master’s degree in forensic psychology and doctoral degree in clinical psychology from the University of Denver’s Graduate School of Professional Psychology. She completed her predoctoral internship through the University of Denver’s Graduate School of Professional Psychology’s Internship Consortium, where she focused on assessment and treatment of children and families. Dr. Fryer completed her postdoctoral training at Legacy Center in Parker, CO, where she conducted a broad range of psychological assessments, including for Autism Spectrum Disorder, with children and adults, facilitated parent-training groups, and provided psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and young adults. Additionally, Dr. Fryer recently completed training in perinatal mood and anxiety disorders and is working towards her Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C).
Dr. Fryer has experience in a broad range of settings, including public schools, in and outpatient medical settings for adults and children, and in private practice. Most recently, Dr. Fryer was part of the mental health team at a pediatric medical practice providing psychotherapy and brief ADHD assessments to children and adolescents.
