Meet Dr. Elly Maras

Dr. Maras is a doctoral level mental health clinician who provides psychotherapy and assessment services to children and adolescents. She currently works with individuals, parent/child pairs, and families. Her clinical approach is grounded in family systems and attachment theories and trauma-informed treatment modalities.

Also trained as a school psychologist, Dr. Maras values collaboration  with families and schools, views children and adolescents holistically, and is passionate about working with families of youth who are neurodivergent. She is committed to providing a creative and warm therapeutic space for her clients to gain insight and heal the relationships with themselves and their loved ones.

Dr. Maras's areas of specialty in psychotherapy include CBT, ADHD, anxiety, depression, LGBTQ+ needs, parent training, PCIT, play therapy, and trauma, especially early childhood trauma, complex trauma, and sexual abuse. She is working towards being certified in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT). During her graduate training, she provided individual, group, and family therapy services in community mental health, public school, private practice, and outpatient behavioral health settings.

Dr. Maras's areas of specialty in assessment include neurodiversity (e.g., ADHD, ASD), gender dysphoria, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, and learning disorders. She is committed to facilitating an evaluation process that is strengths-based, culturally affirming, and trauma-informed. She has conducted psychological and psychoeducational evaluations in community mental health, private practice, public school, outpatient behavioral health, and day treatment settings.

Dr. Maras earned her doctorate degree in Child, Family, and School Psychology from the University of Denver and received joint terminal master degrees in School Psychology from John Carroll University. In her free time, she enjoys exploring Colorado by hiking and skiing. She also loves to read fantasy books, practice hot yoga, cook healthy meals, and plan trips!
