Amanda is a School Psychology Ph.D. student currently attending the University of Denver. She has master’s degrees in both child psychology and education from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pa. She has clinical and work experience with a diverse range of clients in various settings, including in-patient, intensive out-patient, private practice, and school-based. She also has a special interest in working with early childhood and their families.

At Birch, she provides therapy and assessment services to clients of all ages, with a focus on early childhood, school-aged children, and their parents.

Amanda has experience with concerns related to anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, ASD, culture, gender, and family systems. She has experience administering social-emotional, academic, and cognitive assessments. Amanda has worked with parents and other professionals in multi, and provided play therapy and other behavioral, social-emotional, and academic evidenced-based interventions.

Amanda uses a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, reflective and interpersonal approaches, and family systems work. She also believes that the therapeutic relationship is paramount to successful therapy and values developing trusting and lasting relationships with clients. She also has psychotherapy experience with clients ranging from early childhood to adulthood. 

Amanda strives to promote autonomy and healthy coping strategies by utilizing an individual’s and family’s strengths to foster resiliency and success. In the assessment process, she takes a holistic approach to answer questions about a person’s psychological and academic functioning and aims to provide meaningful recommendations that translate testing results into action.
